Hi, beauties! It’s April now! Time flies so fast than we thought. Am I right?
Happy Easter to all my catholic and christian readers. Hope you have quality time with family. And for those who don’t celebrate Easter, enjoy your looonngg weekend! What’s your plan, guys?
As I mentioned before on my previous post. This time I want to share with you my experienced on RED lippie. To be honest, I’m so picky about lipstick. And I’m matte and soft colour person. So, when I decided to buy strong color like RED. I put a lot of effort and super carefully thought about that. I did a lot of researched to find out what’s best for me. Especially with my skin stone. Not all red lipsticks will be matched for me. I read reviews from beauty bloggers about red lipsticks. At the end, I found a very booming red lippie which had used by Rihanna. I don’t know exactly which one was used by Rihanna, the Russian Red or Ruby Woo of MAC.
After all, I decided to buy MAC Ruby Woo. Well, this is gonna be my first MAC lipstick ever. Based on all articles I had read, most of beauty bloggers recommended MAC Ruby Woo. Because Ruby Woo is warm colour and perfect for a person who have skin tone like me. Especially last result of Ruby Woo is super matte. I love this shade.
And I went to official counter of MAC at Grand Indonesia. I had tested both, Russian Red and Ruby Woo. Unfortunately they didn’t have Lady Danger.
I’m convince to myself that I didn’t do any regrets when I decided to buy this MAC Ruby Woo, even though I wasn’t sure that if it would work with my skin tone. But, Hey, let’s give it a try!
Anyway, MAC Ruby Woo comes in black plastic tube like all MAC lipstick. MAC described its very matte vivid blue result. That means it has blue undertones.
It’s a bit tricky to apply MAC Ruby Woo on my lips because it’s super matte. This lipstick highly pigmented and it will last on your lips for ages, incredible! You need to apply carefully on little corner of your lips, cause it’s quite hard to build up precisely shape. I advice you to moisturized your lips first with balm or Vaseline petroleum. Don’t’ forget to scrub your lips at night after use or will use this lipstick. Otherwise it will emphasize dry area and worse. Your lips crack and flake off.
MAC Ruby Woo staying power is excellent! Let’s say it will long last on your lips up to 7 hours. I have no doubt with this my very first red lippie. Even after drink or one meal, it’s still intact. Although it fades a bit. But, be careful when you eat something oily, you need a little retouch.
So far, I’m in love with this lipstick. I never ever confidence when I use red lipstick. It has beautiful matte finish, almost like retro matte. And makes my teeth looks whiter! MAC Ruby Woo is classics, playful colour.
On this picture, I used simple and neutral make-up: Mineral BB Cream Bright Etude House, Organic Mineral Loose Powder BOHO Green revolution, Skinfood blush on, VOV eye shadow, NYX Eye liner, Too Faced Mascara, and Kay collection false eye-lashes.
Pro’s:
· Absolutely water resistant. Even it didn’t leave any stains on your glass!
· Staying power up to 7 hours or more without bleeding
· Super matte
· Hollywood and Retro matte red
· The colour is amazing! MAC Ruby Woo subtle in different light. Indoor, it looks cool red and sexy. It’s not like dark red. And outdoor, just like the famous red lippie style of Taylor Swift. Warm red, almost like cherry kiss, and makes your teeth whiter!
· Quick dry
· Survives drinks and meals
· Perfect for any skin tone and any look
· Highly pigmented. Perfectly cover your lips
Con’s:
· The price is quite expensive. Compare with Make Up For Ever, it’s cheaper tho. IDR 260.000 or US$ 16.00 may vary
· It because matte finished. It’s quite hard to apply. Especially corner of your lips
· accentuate dry patches
