Unexpected jam only in Bali!

Hi, gorgeous! It’s been awhile that I didn’t post anything in English yet. So, here I am. I wish y’all have a great week ahead.
The story begin from I was going to Bali 2 weeks ago. It was fun-working time. I went to Bali because I had meeting with soap maker in Bali. Besides, I was looking for nice homemade yummy jam and interested with their natural packaging made from bamboo, KOU cuisine. It started from I’ve such a good review from Cumi, you can read his blog and he has such fascinating way of blogging.

Back the topic, it was difficult to find the shop. Firstly, I thought nearby with Monkey forest. So I just took walk along the way of Monkey forest. After googled and phoned them, I should straight ahead to Ubud about more than 500 meters from crossroad of Monkey forest ground. And it wasn’t easy to find anyway, because the shop is so tiny. After I took walk and asked people, they showed me. OMG! I just passed it about 2 times. Its opposite of Pandora Jewelry. I Just found small sign as written “KOU cuisine”. It says that If I can collect 2 stamps in one day, I will get special gift! Well, let’s give it a try then…

The waitresses are very kind and humbled, also they speak fluently of Japanese. The shop is so homey. Simple and decent.

They let me tasted the sample first before to buy. I was excited to taste all varieties. They have mango, passion fruit & tangerine, pineapple & guava, milk caramel, strawberry & banana, and apple cinnamon. The price is not too expensive, only IDR 40.000/jar.

I’ve read from few post, they recommend of Milk caramel. And the taste so good. I can say it’s extra ordinary jam. You’ll be surprised with the taste because you won’t find with same flavor out there. They have new flavor, grape and buni fruit.

Then I bought 4 jars; 2 milk caramels, 1 grape & buni fruit, 1 strawberry & banana. And of course I bought the bamboo packaging. It’s pricy—IDR 30.000—but I want it so bad, anyway. Here is the look.

But they also offer another package with 3 jars or only 1. Very neat and decent!

If you have a chance to go there. Look to the right corner of the shop. KOU cuisine not only sell a home made jam. But also a handmade soap and salt. Which is made from natural ingredients.

I was surprised when I saw the package of soap. It’s just like a candy. I really want to eat that. Then I asked them, “Where I can get it? Should I buy here?”. Then the waitress said, “No. That’s only sample. You should go to other KOU shop near here. Just straight ahead and on crossroad, turn left then just take a walk about 10-20 meters, there you are. “

After I paid my bill, the waitress gave me little note. It’s called KOU Bali Passport. Because I spent more than IDR 70.000, I’ve got 1 stamp. If I want to get a special gift, I should do purchase more than IDR 70.000 again on the other store where sell the handmade soap and salt. Nice marketing strategic, right? 😉

I applied the grape & buni jam onto bread mixed with nutella and cheese. You might be thinking that picture below isn’t tempting. But trust me, the taste is so juicy, sweet, sour, fresh and rich. You can feel texture of fruit still in there.
